After much debate and procrastinating I finally got an idea for McKenna's birthday party. Thank heavens it's her last one. We decided to do a "Mall Scavenger Hunt". I made the invitations to look like credit cards....they actually turned out pretty cute. They had money, camera and a list of various things they had to do.....here's the results. (Note: pictures were taken by the girls)
Gunnar and I were driving down the freeway when we ended up behind......

I know lots of you vie for this prestigious honor but really I maybe the most deserving. I mean if you tally all the stupid stuff I've done over the years I could probably win hands down....there was the "setting my newborns car seat on an ant home...not realizing it till she had been bitten repeatedly"....the "not taking my son to the doctor after he jumped out of a second story window and he limped for weeks" (in my defense there really wasn't anything they could have done)...the "ooops I left my child in the car" (I know we can all add that one) and countless others I shall refrain from sharing but here's the latest.......
Gunnar has squinted for years and McKenna complained all last year about not seeing good.....I kept putting off taking them to get their eyes tested cause we just didn't have the money or good insurance.....now that I REALLY have neither I figured before school started (and thanks to a gracious donor) we should go get them checked. Well, you guessed it they both needed glasses! Gunnar ended up getting contacts (he informed me he was too cool for glasses)....all the way home he kept saying "I CAN SEE! HEY I CAN READ THAT SIGN! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW GREAT IT IS TO SEE". With each statement I kept feeling smaller and smaller. Poor kids. Lucky me--I will get a replay of my bad motherness when McKenna's glasses come in next week.
The softball team I play on won the Championship tonight!! Way to go ladies!!
Did you know girl spit and boy spit are not the same?
No I didn't
When a girl spits it goes everywhere--all over her and all over the ground.
Hummmm
When a boys spits he spits in a straight line and in lands in one spot.
ohhhh
I wish I could do that....Derek won't tell me how he does it.
(Is this my sweet little ballerina?!?!)
Jared and I have been walking in the morning and riding our bikes at night.....you know trying to counter balance the cookies and milk we eat before bed. Well, this morning Jared had to do something at the church so we decided to bike it. AND Gannon woke up early---so we had a tag along. Jared was huffing and puffing complaining about how it was harder to pull a bike trailer (poor baby) so I said we'd switch after (he could ride my girly bike) and I'd pull Gannon on the way back. Well, as soon as I got on his bike I could see the problem he had this thing in the wrong gear! So I began trying to switch gears--his bike wasn't cooperating so I had to get tough with it. Well, I don't know my own strength--cause I bent the whole shift thing back and upside down :( I had to call my dad to come and get us! No more bike rides for us. Sorry Jar!
I forgot my camera thank goodness for the cell phone eh? Gannon had tubes put in the end of April he was so funny. He thought he needed to talk to everyone (although he actually doensn't talk yet--he thinks he can). And he had all the nurses ooohing and aaahing over him. No wonder he's so spoiled. They wrapped up one of his arms to keep the oxygen reader on and he thought he needed his other arm wrapped too. He did great and we are hopeful that this keeps he ears in good shape and helps his speech too.
