Old Timer's Might Be Right

When we first bought our house a lot of the 'older people' in our ward would say "I remember when QH was under 4 feet of water". It's become a little bit of a joke between my dad and I...I've kept assuring him we are safe and all is good. Well.......We've gotten a ton of snow, it's stayed colder longer, heated up faster, rained a lot....and this is where we are....
The tops of the rocks the the top left of the picture was the top of the river bank.... it's now on the verge of spilling over. The river now goes from bank to bank (on the picture below if you take the tree in the middle of the picture and follow down and to your left next the the bushes sticking out
you can see what use to be the edge of the river)
On Mother's Day afternoon people from our neighborhood gathered to fill sand bags and help the homes next to the river be more secure. Everything should be fine.....but it sure is a sight to see.

It's moving really fast which can be very scary. I've stopped letting Kennedy take that way to school. She's fallen in the river once...I don't really want a replay.

You can see the benches here....they were actually a ways back on the property.
