Vaulting Extravaganza

McKenna had a vaulting winter fest on the 8th. It was a lot of fun and oh so cold. We managed to keep semi warm. In the past they have always done vaulting "competitions" this year they decided to just have fun. All the girls had a routine to a Christmas song. It really was a lot of fun. McKenna was great! She has improved so much. (For those of you who may not know what vaulting is.....it is a combination of dancing/gymnastics on horseback) She now preforms her routines at a trot and can mount the horse all by herself. The horse she prefers is a Clydesdale so it really is a feat for my scrawny little girl to do. She also did a handstand dismount which got a big "woo hoo" from the crowd. That was the first time Jared has seen her do that so he was pretty shocked and proud. She also preformed in a team routine, there are usually 3 girls on the horse at a time and they just rotate in and out. It was fun to watch. She really did wonderful!

(Video to come as soon as I figure out my camera!)

This is the only picture that took.
She is hanging off the side of the horse.

  1. I can't believe she can do that! And on a Clydesdale? Those things are huge! What a neat talent to have.
