So it begins.....

Well, it's here. As much as I was hoping we would hold out just a little longer.....the snow has arrived....with the never ending pile of coats, scarves, gloves, boots strung all over the house; the spots of freezing water on the floor waiting for my nice warm feet to find them; and of course the dog that now refuses to go outside (It's too cold ya know...I keep trying to remind her she is part husky---suck it up dog....she's not buying it).

Sadly, along with all of that out went my hopes of having Christmas lights on my house. Jared says he "planned" on putting them up. That "he too" wanted our house to reflect our excitement for Christmas. And that he was absolutely NOT "afraid to get up on the roof". Hummmmmm....wait until it snows....then there is now way I'll pester him to put them up. He's got it all figured out. Little does he know next year I'm going to start asking him in August.

What do I love about snow?....you might be wondering. I love the hot cocoa and marshmallows; the fire place going; the snuggling in blankets; sledding (yes I said sledding....as long as I can get nice and warm after);I love how beautiful everything looks; the trees; but the thing I love best about the snow........Jared and I get up after a fresh snow, bundle up our best and set off across the bridge to walk the path. It is the best when no one has yet wandered that way......it is so quiet and absolutely beautiful. Jared and I have not yet gotten to take that walk yet....I am sure we will have plenty of snows and I look forward to it.

Enjoy your winter!!!

  1. Hey Tricia,
It's your cousin Lisa. I found your blog off of Allredsville. I'm excited to see how you are doing. We too have taking up blogging. It's fun though sometimes addicting!
I love seeing the snow pictures while I'm sitting outside in my 70 degree weather. I like the snow, just as long as it melts by the afternoon or I can just come down off the mountain away from it.
Anyway, if you want to check out our blog thatcherolivers.blogspot.com

  2. Though that was nice and the lovely snow imagery masked that the whole blog was about accusing an innocent victim while he was not aware that daggers were being thrown right at his back with out warning.

Now there is a story that I am not comfortable about telling and it involves Christmas lights (I am sorry if that offended any of the readers and you would like me to say Holiday lights....Tuff...I said Christmas and I mean CHRISTmas), a roof and one mean fat(politically correct :Gravity Challenged) White (meaning the color of hair and not the color of skin) Old (stricken in years) Man (I am sure it was a man so I will leave that alone unless you will fill more comfortable with "person"). It was a disturbing situation and is recalled vividly to my mind every time the mention of putting up Christmas lights is brought up. To say the least it is hard and I do come up with excuses and hide myself in the closet and eat crackers (not meaning slag for white folk) and sardines.

I hope you understand and do not think less of me for the cyber bulling you just experienced in the commented on blog.

  3. Well, after you described the snowy weather I think I might like to take a walk outside. I love when all the trees are frosted. If only kids could pick up their own snow clothes (and dry them)!
